Batuna Rural Training Centre
Western Province

Batuna is at the tip of Vangunu Island, a small peninsula in Morovo Lagoon. We are close to a villagecommunity who offer great support. The centre is controlled by the Western Solomon Islands Mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, who founded the original headquarters of the Church (in the 1960s), on the site of the Batuna Sawmill.

Courses

Agriculture, Building Construction, Business/Typing, Carpentry, Electrics, Homiletics, Life Skills, Mechanics.

Course duration

3 years.

Annual fee

$1,600. Electrician's Course, $2,000

To apply Applicants must be Form 3 - 6, and above 16 years of age. Please send your application with your School Leaver's Certificate (Standardd 6, Form 3, etc.), a reference letter from the principal of your previous school, and a reference letter from your church pastor

How to get here

There is a weekly flight from Honiara to Batuna, which takes one hour. You can fly from Honiara to Seghe (4-5 times a week), then travel by outboard motor. We are five minutes' drive from Kasili Port.
