Nareabu
Village-based Centre
Ysabel
Province
We offer short courses in rural technologies to surrounding
communities (courses can accommodate 20 people at a time). Our aim is to
promote self-reliance and increase living standards by making appropriate
technologies available to villagers. We also run outreach and Sunday school
programmes, and organise soccer, netball, and hiking events. The atmosphere
at our centre is relaxing and friendly, and we are supported by the community
in all our activities.
Facilities include a guesthouse, office, dormitory, and three staff houses
with kitchens. We have a temporary classroom arrangement, using the local
school hall. We have piped water, a rainwater tank, and good sanitation.
We have three voluntary staff, and our support comes mostly from the Nareabu
Village Community Fund.
