Saeka Village-based Centre
Choiseul Province

Our aim is to help drop-outs from the formal schools. We try to equip them with life skills that will make them self-reliant and able to earn an income. Many of our young men build houses and make furniture for sale.
Saeka has only one staff member, and can accommodate up to 20 students per course. Apart from our vocational programme, we have a sewing programme, and hold various fund-raising activities and sports events. We have a small supsup garden with cabbage, potatoes, cassava and yam which we sell at the market to help sustain the centre. We also keep bees.
We have only one building. There is a rainwater tank for drinking water. There is no power supply and we do not have a vehicle.
