No betelnut chewing and tobacco are tolerated at our centre, as we try to keep the environment godly and reverent, so that residents can relax in the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. We think our centre gives identity to the Province. We also contribute to the province by building and repairing where necessary, and the community helps us with transport, labor and food. We sell day old chickens and bread at the airfield for an income.

Our centre has six newly built staff houses (one permanent and five leaf houses), and a permanent but incomplete boys’ dormitory which is a 2-storey building with the ground floor used as a Carpentry workshop. We also have a water tank, generator and solar power, carpentry tools, incubator, bakery and bread tins. We have no vehicle.
We have 7 full-time staff members at the centre, and can take in 30 students at a time, both boys and girls of any age and educational level may apply, but at this stage only members of the South Seas Evangelical Church.

Tebaieha Bible & Vocational RTC
Rennell/Bellona Province

Tebaieha started in 1996, closed temporarily in 2000 due to lack of funding and the social unrest in the country at that time. We restarted in 2002 with new leadership and a new vision and plans for the future. We now offer courses that are better tailored toward the needs in Solomon Islands’ rural areas.
Our mission is equipping a pool of resource people to be self-reliant and better able to contribute to development in Solomon Islands. We love Jesus Christ and want Him to be part of everything we do and teach at the centre.

Apart from our vocational programme, we have a hatchery at the centre, we fish in the lake, our students bake, cook and sew, sing in choirs, and sports include volley ball. We keep roosters and chicken, which we feed on coconut, fish, and free range food. We also grow potatoes, taro and yam, cassava, pumpkin, and tomatoes, some of which are seasonal and have to be planted when rain allows.
