VTC is situated adjacent to St. Dominic's RTC just a 100 meters' walk away. It’s built on a small hill with ocean views of Vela Lavella and the St. Dominic's integrated farm. The buildings are arranged in a circle around the main recreational area in front. Many large indigenous trees decorate the area, with a carpet of clover and flowers underneath them. It's a picturesque site, shady and breezy, on the edge of the forest. Vanga college was purposefully located in close proximity to St. Dominic's RTC, so that trainee teachers learn the ethos that characterizes St. Dominic's. VTC is integrated with the life of next door St. Dominic's in several ways. Student teachers participate in farming activities like feeding animals, and also do their weekly teaching practice and skills upgrading there.
Buildings at Vanga are permanent buildings, with each student teacher having his or her own study/bedroom. There are separate ablution blocks for male and female students, 3 staff houses, a classroom, Life Skills upgrading room, and a computer room. There's also a workshop for peer teaching practice. They have the use of generator power, and fresh spring water is pumped up from a mountain spring into a holding tank.
