Village-based RTCs run workshops and short courses usually of one or two weeks for local communities. They can cover any number of subjects or skill areas. Often they will invite local 'resource people' or experts to share their skills or experiences with the community. The village usually provides the accommodation and most of the food for workshop participants, who will be expected to make a small contribution. SIARTC helps fund these courses through contributions from European Union project and SIARTC-APHEDA project, coming to an end in January 2003.
